Worksop: Late change to meeting venue for campaign group
Tonight’s (Monday, 15th September) Worksop Against Incineration meeting will now be held Shireoaks Inn on Westgate in Worksop and not the Station Hotel as previously advertised
The meeting starts at 7.15pm and will be addressed by guest speaker Shlomo Dowen, national co-ordinator of UK Without Incineration (UKWIN) who will be answering questions about the proposal to build a large waste incinerator on the site of the old recycling centre on Shireoaks Road in Worksop.
UKWIN links over 200 local anti-incineration campaign groups throughout the UK and its activities include liaising with Government departments over waste policy by advocating anaerobic digestion and zero-waste handling systems as an alternative to waste incineration.
