Worksop: Larwood couple win a wedding worth £40,000

A Worksop couple’s dreams have come true after they won a wedding worth a staggering £40,000.

Laura Stubbins, 24, and Daniel Cain, 25, of Larwood, are believed to have pocketed the largest wedding competition prize in the UK.

The package includes a choice of top wedding venues by Marriot Country Clubs, an exotic honeymoon from Kanik and a designer wedding dress from Eternity Bridal.

Laura said: “We had decided to get married abroad because we thought it would be a lot cheaper even though that wasn’t my dream.

“But now my dream has come true and it just feels amazing.”

Daniel proposed to Laura after just three months on her birthday. He took her out for a meal and presented her with a box of chocolates - but replaced one of the chocolates with a sparkling engagement ring. Then when she looked back up he was down on one knee with a bouquet of flowers asking her to marry him.

She happily said ‘yes’ and then entered the Win a Wedding competition organised by bridal website Confetti.co.uk.

The wife-to-be found out the news when she received an unexpected phone call. she added: “I never win anything. It just feels amazing.”

“I think I am in shock.”

“I actually just entered, I saw people posting asking when they found out but I did put anything because I just thought I would never win anyway.”

Laura was not allowed to tell any of her friends or family or post on social media until the news was officially announced and the couple will now marry in 2015.
