The Queen’s Head, on Bridge Street, shut its doors earlier this month - causing 12 members of staff to lose their jobs. Five people living at the premises - including landlord Lee Mills, three bar staff and a chef, will all have to move out.

The Guardian has asked pub retailer Greene King, who own the building, for a comment.

“I would like to say thank you to everyone for their loyal support over the last 12 months,” Mr Mills said.

“I want people to know that it is out of my control and I have worked hard over the last couple of weeks to reopen the pub in the effort to try save 12 jobs.

“We have all been left devastated by the decision to close the pub.”
