Last night (Thursday) at around 11.30pm the building got broken into and thieves stole a small cash float and caused damage to stock.

Manager of Kids Zone, Graeme Murray said: “ I was notified by our alarm system last night and went down to Kids Zone straight away.”

“Nothing was damaged to the play area but items from our stockroom have been taken and some small cash.”

Graeme said the police were called as soon as he realised what had happened.

He added: “At first I thought it was a false alarm but then quickly realised it was too much of a coincidence for the alarm to be going off again.”

People don’t realise the hassle is causes, we don’t need it, things are hard enough.”

Kids Zone are now going to be tightening up the security to prevent this happening again.

Graeme said:“We shouldn’t have to be tightening up the security, it’s a children’s play area.”

“I got into work at 6 o’clock this morning tidying up the mess, but we are not going to let this affect us.

We have been lucky and have been open as normal this morning.”

Kids Zone have stopped leaving any cash in the building and police CCTV footage of the culprits.

The police are now investigating the issue.
