Participants will take on a 10k or 5k route, which they can run or walk, from the maternity department at Bassetlaw Hospital to St. John’s church in Carlton-in-Lindrick, starting at 9am on Sunday, November 1.

Emma, chairman of JOEL, has organised the fun run in memory of her twins Noel and James, who were sadly born sleeping.

Emma said: “St. John’s church is where my beautiful boys are laid to rest.

“Naturally this will be an emotional run for a number of us as we remember our precious babies who couldn’t stay. But it will also be fun with the rainbows and bright colours we will be wearing.

“Rainbow babies are born after a pregnancy loss. ‘Rainbow baby’ means that something beautiful and full of light has appeared in the midst of the darkness and clouds.

“Storm clouds may still hover but the rainbow provides a counterbalance of colour, energy and hope. If you would like to take part, the brighter your outfit the better.”

JOEL - The Complete Package are a local registered charity, who provide support both in Worksop and nationally to families who have lost their baby and families who ate trying to conceive after the loss of a baby.

The charity’s ongoing project is to raise £35,000 to refurbish a room at Bassetlaw Hospital to become a beautiful family suite for recently bereaved parents.

The charity have so far raised £12,500 towards their target to give to Bassetlaw Hospital in October.
