Worksop: Is town any closer to getting a nightclub?

Worksop is no nearer to getting a nightclub more than a year after planning consent was granted by the local authority.

But developers of Crown House hope to announce the first tenants soon for the offices on the second floor of the building on the corner of Hardy Street.

Bassetlaw Council granted A4 planning permission for nightclub use in the ground floor of building in August last year.

More than a year on, developers Crystal Property and Land have stripped out the floor but are still looking for a tenant. They believe that as well as being suitable for a late bar or nightclub, it would also be an ideal location for a shop.

Crystal director Andy Park said: “We believe that Crown House has a huge amount of potential and that with the right tenant, the ground floor can become a highly successful shop or bar.”

“It is in a great location in the town centre, within walking distance of the major shopping area and opposite the bus station. With the ground floor now stripped out, a tenant can come in and configure the space to their specific requirements.”

“The second floor offices suit a wide range of companies, from new start-ups with one-or two staff to larger companies looking for a new base. We have had a good number of enquiries for these suites and hope to be able to announce the first tenants soon.”

The first floor is currently let to Notts Police.
