Worksop: Incineration campaign group to host coffee morning

Worksop Against Incineration campaign group are hosting a Coffee Morning at Rhodesia Village Hall on Saturday.

The group are hoping to raise enough funds. between 10am-2pm, to enable them to set-up their own website.

Raffle prizes and cakes donations would be welcome.

The Worksop Against Incineration second petition signing on Saturday 3rd May was signed by about 300 people in just over two hours.

The group have said they have been stopped from having a stall on Worksop market as Bassetlaw District Councillors have complained about them being there.

Norman Biggs said: “You will recollect that Bassetlaw District Council officers allowed us to have a market stall back in April for our first petition signing free of charge even though we were willing to pay.”

“The market traders did not object at all.”

“So this meant for our second petition signing we were relegated to standing on the pavement outside Argos.”

“To date 900 or so people have signed our petition against the proposed Waste Incinerator in Worksop and 200 plus have included their email addresses for further information.”

“Our next petition signing will be in Tesco’s, Worksop, as their management have allowed us to set up a stall in their main entrance. Tesco are againt the incinerator too.”

The next group meeting is on Thursday 15th May at Rhodesia Village Hall at 7.30 pm.
