Worksop: Guardian Rose for dedicated dance teacher Donna
A renouned dance teacher who has been coaching the budding ballerinas of Worksop for over a decade has received a Guardian Rose for her dedication.
Donna Pressley was presented with the accolade in a surprise ceremony at her dance academy on Retford Road on Wednesday, October 15.
The teacher, who has over 30 years of experience in dance, was nominated for the Guardian Rose by her adoring eight-year-old pupil Evie Dennington.
Evie said: “I would like to give Donna the Guardian rose because she is the best dance teacher ever.
“She has really helped me grow in confidence since I started dancing when I was three years old.
“At the dance academy, it’s like one big happy family. Donna gives up all her time to come and teach us to dance.
“We all love her very much and we would like to show her how much she means to us all.”
The talented dance teacher founded the dance academy in 2005 and previously taught her classes from Worksop Railway Station on Carlton Road before making the move to Manton Sports on Retford Road this year.
Donna used to perform professionally on a national scale and now teaches a variety of dance styles including ballet, tap and jazz to students of all ages.
Evie’s mum, Amy Dennington, said: “Donna is an amazing dance teacher.
“She gives her all to every student and we really wanted to say thank you.”
