Worksop: Fight against an incinerator being built continues

The proposed incinerator would be at the old recycling centre on Shireoaks Road, Worksop.

At the meeting, the Bilsthorpe Incinerator Planning Application was discussed.

The group believe the outcome of the incinerator in Bilsthorpe could affect what happens in Worksop.

It was decided that WAI would get in touch with Parish Councils and local businesses in Bassetlaw to get their backing.

It was also stated that Bassetlaw District Council would be contacted again to see if WAI could petition on Worksop Market.

A letter from Mr John Mann MP was read out in objection to the proposed Worksop Waste Incinerator and that Campaign and information had been sent to all Bassetlaw Candidates for next year’s General Election.
