“We don’t stay at home for Christmas - we go to our wonderful friends’ for the day.” “But we now have a beautiful granddaughter Darcie and as she gets older and starts to understand Christmas she might bring back some of the magic for us.”

The family, including Lee’s older brother Drew, have raised over £8000 in the years since his death. At his funeral, they asked for donations to The Children’s Hospital Charity, and held a huge fancy dress party for his 18th birthday in 2008, attracting more than 350 people.

Their next event will be a Hawaiian fancy dress party, on Friday December 12th at St Joseph’s Social Club, Prospect, Worksop. It starts at 7pm and costs £8, including food.

The money raised by the event will go to The Children’s Hospital Charity’s Make it Better appeal.
