One youngster loves Santa so much he wanted to be him when he found out some Children were in hospital over Christmas and donated his old toys.

The Beardmore family from Garside Street, Worksop, watched a programme about poorly children in hospital over the holidays, and Bailey who is just three told his dad, Mark, he wanted to go and be Father Christmas at Bassetlaw Hospital.

Mark, 32, said: “I am so proud of Bailey for wanting to help others.”
The family donated soft toys to the children and a Bailey even helped wrap some of the presents which were donated on Wednesday, December 23.

“The nurses were stunned when we told them it wasn’t our idea and the children’s faces were all smiles when we turned up.”

Now Mark wants to raise awareness of others less fortunate than themselves.

He said: “It just brings it home how much we have and there are children out there who won’t be spending time with their families through no fault of their own.”

His post on Facebook has received hundreds of likes and he said he has not done this to boast but make people think.

“If everyone donated one toy next year think how many children we could help if we work as a team.”
