All of the beams and columns for the five storey car park, as well as the nine lane access ramp, were made at Explore Industrial Park before being assembled on site.

The contract secured employment for 50 staff and led to the recruitment of 10 manufacturing trainees, a number of whom now have permanent roles.

Also three quarters of the raw materials, goods and services were supplied by firms within 50 miles of Steetley giving a wider boost to the local economy.

Bassetlaw MP, John Mann, said: “I’m delighted that Explore Manufacturing, a Bassetlaw based company, has played such a key role in the redevelopment of Heathrow’s Terminal 2.”
