Worksop: College delivers a late Christmas present to Bassetlaw Hospital

The nurses at the Special Care Baby Unit at Bassetlaw Hospital were delighted when staff from Worksop College visited to present a cheque for £1000 following a fund-raising lunch.

The money was raised during the annual Christmas Lunch attended by the support staff at Worksop College and Ranby House, which is held each year at the College after the end of term.

Swapping roles for the day, the senior management team put on their aprons and waited on the tables, serving the traditional Christmas meal and clearing it away, while the support staff enjoyed a well-earned rest.

Worksop College household manager, Colin Pauk said: “The support staff Christmas lunch is always a great event and everyone is able to relax and let their hair down once term has ended.”

“Raising money for a local charity is always an added bonus.”

“The work which takes place at the Special Care Baby Unit is invaluable and I am sure everyone knows someone who is very grateful for the care the staff give”.

The £1,000 cheque was presented to Sister Jackie Pyatt and Sister Sue Proudman by Suzanne Furniss and Jonathan Wheeler from the college.
