Worksop: Children and families enjoy playing in the snow

Youngsters in our communities wrapped up warm before heading out to build their snowmen and go sledging.

Snow fell on Boxing Day evening and continued until the early hours of Saturday 27th December.

Gritters hit the roads throughout the night as snow ploughs battled the conditions to carry out rescue jobs.

Motorists were caught out by the fast fall of snow, with many becoming stranded and abandoning their vehicles.

Some were forced to seek safety in nearby hotels and continued their journeys the following day.
