And they have so far raised more than £5,000.

The ride was organised in memory of Worksop-born man Andrew Ellis who died suddenly last summer aged just 30.

Departing from Worksop and taking in racecourses at Doncaster and York before finishing at Ripon the 94-mile course was a homage to Andrew’s love of horse racing.

The ride took place on 27th June, which would have been Andrew’s 31st birthday.

The Teenage Cancer Trust was chosen as a charity close to the heart of Andrew, who suffered from Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma for a number of years.

Against the odds he beat the illness, and then supported other sufferers through their illness.

Donations to the charity have flooded with the current total standing at £5,322.

Andrew Nunn, ride organiser, said: “It was an honour to have taken part in a ride in memory of a much-loved son, partner, brother and friend.”
