The charity match was organised by staff at Cofely in Retford and they decided Ward C1 at Bassetlaw Hospital would be the benefactors of the money raised as they know all about the wonderful work C1 do on a daily basis through their colleague, Michael Rodgers, whose mum Marie is a staff nurse on the ward.

Chris Trenham, Site Manager, said: “Nine colleagues took part in this two day event, braving the elements to ensure as much money as possible was raised for Ward C1.”

“The first day it rained all day and the second day was the windiest day of the year! It was worth all our efforts as a staggering £500 was raised and big congratulations to Andy Cawthorne who won the match with a weight of 21lb 3oz of carp.”
