Stuart was a keen golfer and a member of Worksop Miners Welfare Golf Society and the society decided to organise a charity golf day at Kilton Forest Golf Club in his memory. The event raised £300 and £200 was donated to them from the Carl and Wayne Reece Memorial Golf Day, which is an annual event held at Kilton Forest Golf Club, bringing the total raised to £500.

Jonathan Gladwin, who organised the event, said: “Thank you to everyone who supported this event including Stuart Cooper, Dave Swift and Nigel Simpson and Craig Frost from Breakers Snooker Club who provided the evening entertainment.”

Stuart’s family and friends visited the children’s ward recently to see how the £500 had been spent. Toys purchased included an Xbox 360, games, snooker table, books and puzzles.
