Sandy Mills, who lives in Voce Court, was burgled after someone rang her doorbell to distract her and then snuck in through the back door.

The incident happened at around 10.30am on Tuesday 3rd December.

While Sandy was out in her back garden someone rang her doorbell at her front door.

As Sandy was making her way to the door someone came in through the back and took items from her living room.

They stole a laptop, IPhone, Sandy’s engagement ring, her purse and cash.

Sandy said: “I am most upset about my engagement ring.”

“I have not been able to wear it as it is too big and my husband was going to take it to be resized.”

It is not known if there was more than one person involved in the incident but Sandy saw someone running through the back garden.

She described them as wearing faded blue jeans and a black hoody and around 5’ 10”. But she could not see if they were male or female.

Sandy said: “I was out on the garden and heard the doorbell.”

“My mobility is not good and when I got to the door no one was there.”

“I looked up and down the street for someone.”

“I heard something in the living room so I shouted but by the time I got there they were running out the back.”

“I don’t think I am ever going to get over this and I don’t want anyone else to have to go through it.”

“They took money which I was saving to pay for vet bills and Christmas presents.”
