Worksop: Bassetlaw Clinical Commissioning Group releases statement following CQC report

Dr Steve Kell, Chair of Bassetlaw CCG, said: “It is important to understand that the indicators used so far by the CQC are just part of the process for inspecting practices, and no local practice has yet to actually be inspected.”

“As a CCG we are working hard with practices to improve some indicators such as rates of emergency admissions, but often this needs changes to local community and hospital services also.”

“We have seen a relatively small rise locally compared to many areas, and improvements in patient pathways and community services are already happening.”

“Indicators such as patient satisfaction are strong across all practices, including Newgate Medical Group, and they are performing well in many areas.”

“All practices will be inspected by the CQC. The bandings seen in the report are meant to be a guide for inspectors and are not a sign that a practice is failing.”

“The indicators referred to in this report, such as flu vaccination, are already improving and offer an opportunity to encourage local people to contact the practice for their flu jabs if they are at risk.”
