Worksop: Banned driver is caught again

Jonathan Pearson, 29, admitted driving while disqualified and without insurance on Potter Street, in Worksop on 3rd January.

Worksop Magistrates’ Court heard that Pearson was banned from driving in 2008, until he had passed his driving test again.

But defence solicitor David Verity told the court that his ban had finished some time ago but he had never taken another test.

He added: “He borrowed his girlfriend’s vehicle to go to visit his ex-girlfriend who was expecting his child and was having a lot of difficulties with it.”

Pearson, who was caught driving while disqualified in 2012, has recently moved from Worksop to his sister’s home in Hyson Green in Nottingham and is addressing his drug habit.

He will be sentenced on 2nd April.
