Worksop: Award ceremony celebrates North Notts College’s apprentices and students

As part of Apprenticeship Week North Notts College took the opportunity to celebrate the achievements of both apprentices and full time students in the Construction Star Awards.

Students were nominated by both their employers and tutors and picked out for their exceptional work over the past year and commitment to their course, the event also goes someway in highlighting the positivity and bonus of employing an apprentice.

The awards were presented to the students by Paul Baylis, Assistant Principal at the College.

And a special award for recognition to learning for an employer was awarded to the National Trust Clumber Park and Terry Wilson, Estate Building Team Manager and Graham Kent Direct Labour Team Conservation Joiner and a former NNC student accepted the award on behalf of Clumber Park from Paul Baylis.

Terry Wilson said: “As a member and supervisor of the National Trust direct labour team at Clumber Park it was an honour to receive this award on behalf of National Trust and I would like to thank NNC for the award.”

“We look forward to carrying on the work to train more Craftsperson for the future alongside North Notts College.”

Paul Baylis, Assistant Principal at NNC, said: “The awards event was a recognition of the many skilled and talented young apprentices that undertake training with us and the important links that we have with employers within the region.”

“It was a pleasure to celebrate the progress that all of these skilled apprentices have made whilst at the college and we look forward to even greater success in the future.”
