Worksop: Author of TimeRiders Alex Scarrow visits Outwood Academy Valley

Best-selling author Alex Scarrow was a guest of honour at Outwood Academy Valley earlier this month.

The author of the TimeRiders series was invited into the school in Worksop to run two writing workshops for Year 7 and Year 8 pupils.

He entertained and provided valuable tips and advice on how to become a creative author in celebration of World Book Day.

Alex awarded a copy of his signed book to each student who had been taking part in the Accelerated Reader Programme for various awards such as the Most Constant Reader, Quizmasters and Most Improved. Kindles were also awarded to those students who had read one million words and there was a Literacy Award for those who achieved 100 per cent in correctly spelling 30 commonly misspelt words.
