A Worksop author left distraught after being made redundant has realised her dream of landing a publishing deal with her debut novel.

Leo Kane was ‘gobsmacked’ to find herself signing a contract with American publisher Ravenswood after completing her supernatural thriller Heavensgate: Hope.

Thanks to the deal the author, who used to work for Sheffield Council, is set to release two more books in the Heavensgate trilogy – one this month and another next year.

Leo said: “I always had this dream of writing a novel and after I was made redundant I couldn’t think of anything else to do but follow that dream.

“I couldn’t believe it when I was offered three publishing deals, I was shocked.

“I eventually went with Ravenswood and am excited to be releasing two more novels soon.

“It’s very uplifting. All I can say to other would-be authors is go for it.

“You’re the only person who can follow your dreams.”

Heavensgate: Hope is available to buy on Amazon for £1.98 for the Kindle edition and £9.48 for the paperback edition.
