Worksop: ASBO breach means prison for renowned town centre nuisance

Daren Morley, 47, of Worksop, was issued with the anti-social behavioural order in November 2013 at Mansfield Crown Court.

He was barred from entering the town centre after acting in a manner likely to cause harassment, alarm or stress.

Morley was also prohibited from being in possession of an unsealed container of alcohol, begging or encourage or incite others to do so and exposing his genitals in public.

But he was later spotted on Bridge Place on the 5th April and later arrested.

He then reappeared at Mansfield Crown Court on 7th April and was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison.

Coun Gerald Connor, of Bassetlaw District Council ,said: “Darren Morley was the subject of an ASBO which carried with it a number of strict conditions that prohibits certain types of behaviour in specific locations.”

“Mr Morley has chosen to ignore those conditions and must face the consequences.”

“Tackling anti-social behaviour is a priority for Bassetlaw District Council and its partners, and with the help of local residents, we will remain vigilant and proactively police those people who are subject to ASBOS and injunctions.
