The Army Cadets from Worksop have taken their achievements to new heights in the past six months.

They have won three major awards consecutively for the last two years, Best Detachment in Notts, the Company Challenge Competition and the British Legion’s Poppy Award.

Over the past six months they have also taken part in various competitions and charitable events, dedicating a lot of their personal time to help their local communities.

They have collected the most money in Worksop for the Poppy appeal and have raised over £1,500 for Help for Heroes.

Cadet Sergeant William Chappell, from Worksop, said: “It has been a very demanding past year but also rewarding.”

Lieutenant Sarah McCarthy, the Detachment Commander, added: “The cadets have worked amazingly hard together as a team to achieve everything they have this last two years.”

“They make me so proud and I’m astounded in what they have achieved and I believe these young people are the best.”

“They will go on to make a good contribution to society in their chosen careers.”
