The following people from the Worksop and Retford areas have recently appeared before the courts.

THEFT

David Mullen, 44, of Queen Street, Worksop. Stole two beef joints, to the value of £22.08, belonging to Tesco. Committed to prison for four weeks suspended for 12 months. Also ordered to pay £230 court costs and an £80 victim surcharge.

Dale Adams, 21, of Radford Street, Worksop. Dishonestly took or assisted in the retention, removal, disposal or realisation of stolen goods, namely Yankee Candles to the value of £700, belonging to Cardzone. Community order made with 100 hours of unpaid work. Also ordered to pay court costs of £85, criminal court costs of £180 and a victim surcharge of £60.

Ashby Espin, 24, of Gladstone Street, Worksop. Stole underwear, to the value of £18, belonging to Matalan. Committed to prison for 28 days suspended for 12 months. Also ordered to pay a criminal courts charge of £150 and a victim surcharge of £80.

John Rushton, 28, of Queen Street, Worksop. Stole various chocolate items, washing items paracetemols and baby milk, to the value of £27.17, belonging to One Stop. Community order made with drug rehabilitation requirement. Also ordered to pay criminal court costs of £150 and £27.17 in compensation.

Paul Deakin, 35, of Queen Street, Worksop. Stole meat products, to a value unknown, from Farmfoods. Committed to prison for four weeks. Also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £80.

DRUGS

Linda Pettinger, 50, of Manton Crescent, Worksop. Produced twelve plants of cannabis, a controlled drug of Class B. Discharged conditonally for 12 months. Also ordered to pay court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £15.

Ruth Goodburn, 43, of Portland Road, Retford. Found to be in possession of a quantity of cannabis, a controlled drug of Class B. Fined £280. Also ordered to pay court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £28.

ASSAULT

Susanne Button, 38, of Kingston Road, Worksop. Assaulted a woman by beating her. Community order made with activity rehabilitation requirement. Also ordered to pay a criminal courts charge of £150, court costs of £80 and £50 in compensation.

Ryan Wilkinson, 22, of Ramsden Crescent, Carlton-in-Lindrick. Assaulted a man by beating him. Committed to prison for 20 weeks suspended for 12 months. Also ordered to pay £350 in compensation.

Vanessa Henshaw, 41, of High Street, Retford. Assaulted a man. Community order made with curfew requirement. Also ordered to pay £45 court costs, a £60 victim surcharge and £50 in compensation.

DAMAGE

Steven Gillon, 23, of Hawthorne Way, Worksop. Without lawful excuse, damaged a door to a value unknown beloging to the Job Centre. Discharged conditionally for six months. Also ordered to pay a criminal courts charge of £150 and a victim surcharge of £25.

MOTORING

Thomas White, 21, of of South Parade, Worksop. Drink driving. Disqualified from driving for 12 months. Fined £280. Also ordered to pay £150 in criminal court costs, £85 court costs and a victim surcharge of £28.

James Smith, 27, of Wharton Street, Retford. Drove a motor vehicle whilst unfit through drugs. Committed to prison for 12 weeks. Disqualified from driving from 20 months. Also ordered to pay a criminal courts cost of £150 and a victim surcharge of £80.

Elliott Lawrence, 20, of Claters Close, Retford. Drove a motor vehicle in a public place without insurance. Fined £600. Also ordered to pay £85 court costs and a £60 victim surcharge.

BREACH

Hayley 28, of Queen Street, Worksop. Failed to comply with the requirements of a community order by failing to attend supervision appointments. Fined £25. Also ordered to pay a criminal courts charge of £100.

OTHER

Luqman Ahmed, 30, of Creswell Road, Worksop. Possessed or supplied 400 cigarettes which were dangerous products and posed a risk of fire by not self-extinguishing. Fined £400. Also ordered to pay court costs of £260 and a victim surcharge of £40.

Ryan Beardsley, 30, of Tranker Lane, Rhodesia. Found to be in possession of items for use in the course of theft, namely a screwdriver, torch and pipe. Community order made with curfew requirement. Also ordered to pay a criminal courts charge of £1,000 and court costs of £650.
