Worksop: Academy reel in the medals at regional dance festival

Dancers from Worksop’s Donna Pressley Dance Academy achieved ‘outstanding results’ when they attended the Millennium dance festival in Doncaster.

Members of the academy wowed at their first dance festival, competing with dance schools from across Notts and South Yorks.

Among the winners were Tara Leigh Goodall, who received two 1st place accolades and also received a 110% effort award.

Casey Dickinson, Evie Dennington, Poppy Smith and Sophie Pressley also came 1st place with their performances.

The academy’s ‘Acro Troupe’ came out tops in the cabaret section with their number, “ You Raise Me Up”.

“Many members that danced came home with medals,” said Donna.

“As a dance school, we are extremely proud of every girl and boy that took part.”

The Dance Academy will return to the dance festival in April to compete again- hopefully our dancers will continue in their success,” she added.
