Deborah Easby, who is now a Staff Nurse at Bassetlaw Hospital in Worksop, said: “It was an honour and a privilege to have gained such an award.”

“I am very passionate about nursing and feel this award reflects my dedication and commitment to provide the highest standards of patient care.”

“Going to university has been a lifelong ambition but family commitments and financial circumstances meant that the opportunity never came up before.”

“With the support of my husband I embarked on my nurse training in September 2010, and I can honestly say that I have never looked back.”

“From the start it was clear that I had made the right decision. “

“The dedication from the university staff, my mentors and the staff on the clinical placements, helped me to get the right academic knowledge and skills, vitally important when delivering high quality compassionate care.”

“I know this was a great aspiration for a newly-qualified staff nurse. I was very fortunate to be offered a permanent post as staff nurse in the Emergency Department at Bassetlaw Hospital. The transition from student nurse to staff nurse is immense, but the level of support I have received from the staff within the department has helped me make the transition.”
