Worksop: 17k Jaguar written off after three car smash on A57

A three car smash on the A57 on Wednesday morning has caused at least two cars to be written off as traffic was brought to a standstill.

At around 11:15am, with single lane traffic moving slowly, a FORD XLT towing a small trailer ploughed into the back of a Jaguar causing it to hit a black Audi A5.

Nobody was seriously hurt but paramedics were treating two women and two men for shock.

Two police cars were also on the scene, near Sainsbury’s roundabout, as debris from the Jaguar and Ford was scattered across the road.

It is understood the traffic was in a single line because the hedges and grass verges are currently being cut.

The driver of the Jaguar, Carl Dalton, of Nene Walk, Worksop, who was in the car with his wife, said: “I was just sat in my car still because of the slowing moving traffic when all of a sudden I was hit from behind.”

“Next thing the air bag went off and there was smoke everywhere.”

“I am glad nobody is seriously hurt, it is only a car.”

“It cost me £17,000 about a year and half ago.”

More to follow.
