Woodsetts: Loved up pair celebrate 60 years of happy marriage

A loved up Woodsetts couple were delighted to receive a telegram from the Queen as they celebrated 60 years of marriage last week.

Keith Stafford, 82, and Olive Stafford, 78, hit their 60 year milestone on Thursday 8th January.

The pair, who previously lived in South Anston, enjoyed a special day on Saturday 10th January, with a surprise ride in a Rolls Royce and Catholic blessing at St Joseph’s Church in Dinnington.

They also enjoyed a meal at the Venus restuarant in Dinnington with family members.

As well as a telegram from the Queen, Keith and Olive also received a signed photograph from the Pope.

The couple were married in 1955 and went on to have four children, thirteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Daughter Helen Lee, who also lives in Woodsetts, said: “My parents had such a lovely day.”

“Not many people get to celebrate their diamond wedding anniversary so it was a special celebration and enjoyed by all .”

“Both my mum and dad were delighted to receive their messages from the Queen and the Pope.”

“They have always been very happy together and are very loved.”
