Taking place on September 11 in Clumber Park, participants can choose between a full or half marathon for the famous women-only events.

New to this year’s events is the ‘golden ticket’, which participants will receive after signing up.

This allows runners to take part in unlimited 5k and 10k Race for Life events throughout the summer to help them prepare for their challenge.

There will be training days in the lead up to the event, where people can train together.

And for extra motivation, friends and family will be able to cheer participants on as they run alongside their loved ones for a small section of the course.

Anthony Newman, director of product marketing at Race for Life said: “Twenty years ago Race for Life changed the face of women’s running in the UK, and we’re delighted to be trail-blazing once again with the return of the UK’s first ever women only marathon.

“We hope thousands of women will join us for the journey of a lifetime to unleash the marathon in them.”
