Woman motorcyclist dies after collision with car in Worksop

Officers were called to reports that a car and a motorbike had collided in the Gateford Road area at around 7am today (Friday December 21).

The 26-year-old female motorcyclist suffered serious injuries and was taken to the Northern General hospital in Sheffield by ambulance colleagues where she died.

The family have asked for privacy during this difficult time.

The car driver was uninjured.

The road remains closed while Serious Collision Investigators carry out an investigation.

Anyone who saw what happened or any drivers in the area with dashcam footage are being asked to get in touch on 101 quoting incident 119 of 21 December.
