Police attended Memorial Avenue just before 2pm on Saturday (October 29) to reports an elderly woman had been pushed to the floor and robbed.

The pensioner suffered a cut to her head as a result of the alleged incident.

Eyewitness, Sarah Young, 29, said her and friend offered first aid treatment to the alleged victim.

“She was crying her eyes out,” Sarah said.

“She was confused and worried about her keys.

“She said thank you for helping her.

“I was shocked that we were the only people to stop and help. The town was packed at the time.”

Police have since charged Deborah Marie Jones, 44, of Potter Street, Worksop, with robbery.
