Will takes sprint title

Bassetlaw orienteers competed in the first ever Lincolnshire Indoor Orienteering Championships at the weekend.

The event was held at Lincoln University Sport Centre.

The outstanding performance of the evening came from Will Parkinson.

He used his experience of micro orienteering courses, to beat the local runners and win the Sprint title.

His victory saw him awarded the ‘Green Jersey’ at the event’s prize giving ceremony.

Local juniors orienteers are preparing to compete in the British Schools Score Championships,.

They will be held at Druridge Bay Country Park, in Northumberland.

Six Bassetlaw schools will be represented in the championships.
