Chesterfield Magistrates’ Court heard how Samuel Leivers, 22, of Penny Green, Whitwell, was spotted by police driving the wrong way around a roundabout into Tesco at Clowne.

Leivers, who said he was sorry, pleaded guilty to exceeding the drink-drive limit after he was tested following the incident in February.

Magistrates also fined him £230 and ordered him to pay £85 costs and a £23 victim surcharge.
