Regular collections will resume again on 1st April 2013.

Chairman of the prosperous communities committee, Coun Malcolm Parish, said: “The winter close down of the service helps us to us to reduce our costs and work within our reduced budget from central government, whilst continuing to provide vital services.”

“By doing this we manage to save around £74,000, which can be used in a better way.”

Residents had previously agreed that winter garden waste collections should be stopped because of the cost savings which can be achieved along with the reduced amount of garden waste we collect, and reduced CO² emissions.
