Wedding pleamade to court

A WORKSOP man convicted of assaulting his bride-to-be hopes a court will allow him to attend their wedding.

Lee Pressley, 39, has admitted assaulting Katherine Irons, of North Road, Clowne, on 7th June and breaching bail on 6th July.

He was brought back before Chesterfield magistrates in custody following the breach and granted bail until 24th August on condition he did not contact her - but their wedding is on 22nd August.

His solicitor, Steve Brint, will ask the justices to relax his bail conditions at a later hearing so they can tie the knot.

Pressley will be sentenced for the assault on 24th August.
