Heavy snow has blanketed Nottinghamshire and is expected to continue to fall until Tuesday afternoon.

As for tonight, it will be generally dry but freezing fog or frost patches may develop later as the temperature plummets to -1°C.

On Wednesday, it will be dry, bright but cold, with possible sleet or snow showers.

Overnight freezing fog or frost will slowly clear before developing again overnight, with a maximum temperature of 4°C expected.

Today’s snowfall caused chaos across the region with roads driving conditions treacherous for motorists and a number of bus services diverted because of snow and ice.
