The natural environment research council reported that the 1.5 magnitude earthquake happened at 1.20pm.

Experts say that earthquakes of 2.5 magnitude or less are usually not felt, with around 900,000 happening every year.

The magnitude of an earthquake, normally measured using the Richter Scale, is a measure of the amplitude of the seismic waves.

Earlier this year, in April, an earthquake with a magnitude of 7.8 killed more than 8,000 people and left hundreds of thousands homeless in Nepal.
