All befrienders are volunteers who offer friendship and support aimed at reducing social isolation for people with dementia and their carers.

Part of the role will help sufferers maintain social and community links.

Alzheimer’s Society is the UK’s leading care and research charity for people with dementia, their families and carers.

There are 70,000 people with dementia in the UK with numbers set to rise to one million by 2025.

If you would like to find out more about volunteering, the Alzheimer’s Society is holding a drop-in day at The Crossing, on Newcastle Street, Worksop, on Friday 18th November from 10am-3pm.
