Volunteer to help in battle against cancer

WORKSOP residents from all walks of life are being urged to volunteer as cancer campaigners with Bassetlaw Health Partnerships (BHP).

Volunteers are needed to help remove barriers and raise awareness of cancer among their communities, as well as encourage people who may be frightened to go to their GP to attend an appointment and discuss their symptoms.

One-in-three people will be affected by cancer at some point in their lives and BHP hopes that campaigners will help with quicker diagnosis and treatment.

Free training will teach volunteers to recognise the basic signs and symptoms of cancer, gain healthy lifestyle advice and improve communication skills.
