Harthill could see 79 homes built on land near Winney Hill and North Farm. And Todwick is down to host 54 houses off Goosecarr Lane.

That’s where Rotherham Council is proposing new housing should be built, if developers come forward over the next 15 years.

The sites are part of a wider plan covering the whole of Rotherham.

The authority is consulting until 29th July on its draft Local Plan, and drop-in sessions have been held across the borough.

The plan shows space for 572 homes spread across Swallownest and Aston.

A petition is currently going around Harthill asking residents to oppose the plans.
