Police, firefighters and an ambulance were called to Spot On snooker club on Vine Terrace just after 1.30pm after reports the woman was not coming down from the roof.

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue sent crews from Stockhill station, along with an aerial ladder platform to rescue the woman.

Simon Roche, from Hucknall, saw the incident from across the road.

He said: “I didn’t realise that much was going off - it just looked like she was sat up there having a fag.”

A police spokesman said the woman came down from the roof voluntarily and is now safe.

It is understood the woman was taken to hospital after the incident, but just as a precaution.
