VIDEO: Two arrested after woman is rescued from Dinnington house fire

Two people have been arrested on suspicion of arson after a Dinnington woman was rescued from a house fire.

The 35-year-old woman was trapped inside the house which had become smoke logged due to wheelie bin fire outside.

Firefighters from Aston and Maltby were called to the house on Manor Road, just after 5am this morning (Friday).

A wheelie bin had been set alight and pushed up against the door.

Firefighters used a ladder to rescue the woman from a front bedroom window.

The woman, who had been alerted to the fire by her smoke alarms, was taken to Rotherham Hospital where she was treated for smoke inhalation and burns to her face.

Police have arrested a 23-year-old man and 19-year-old woman on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life, and are currently in police custody.
