VIDEO: Town charity shop celebrates its 60th birthday

The Sense shop in Gainsborough marked the charity’s 60th birthday with a fun day full of surprises on Saturday 25th April.

The day included a beach party, raffles with great prizes, lots of bargains and even a bath full of baked beans.

Brave nine-year-old Connor Welch was going to soak in a bathtub full of baked beans at the store’s window with help from his five-year-old younger brother Corey.

Shop manager, Mandy Welch, who is also Connor’s mum, said: “We wanted to do something different to celebrate Sense’s 60th birthday.”

The Sense charity shop reopened last year after it was severely damaged in a fire two years ago.

The shop raises vital funds for national charity Sense that has been supporting children and adults who are both deaf and blind for 60 years.

The Sense shop is in Silver Street, Gainsborough.
