The event, hosted by Notts County Council, took place at Worksop town hall.

Representatives from a range of employers such as Avon, Clumber Park and the Armed Forces were on hand to offer advice to jobseekers and inform them of any positions available at their companies.

Paul Edwards, a job centre advisory team manager, said there had been a really positive response to the job fair, with jobseekers eager to talk with potential employers.

“The turnout has been excellent,” he said. “This just goes to show that there are people who are genuinely looking for jobs in the Worksop area.”

Coun Jo White, of Bassetlaw District Council said: “I am delighted that the council was able to host the jobs fair at Worksop town hall.”

“Judging by the number of people who attended the event, it seems to have been a real success- this shows that there is a willing workforce in Notts crying out for jobs.”
