VIDEO: It has been 21 years since a Monday to Friday service ran at Gainsborough Central Station

Today, Wednesday 1st October, marks the 21st anniversary since a weekday passenger service ran on the Brigg Line through Gainsborough Central Station and members from the Friends Of The Brigg and Lincoln Lines Rails and the Gainsborugh Rail and Bus Group gathered at the station to mark this event.

The Mayor of Gainsborough, Coun Mick Tinker, was also in attendance and he wished the group well in their campaign to restore a Monday to Friday service in Gainsborough.

Paul Johnson, a member of the Friends Of The Brigg and Lincoln Lines Rail Group, said: “The Friends Of The Brigg and Lincoln Lines Rail Group and the Gainsborugh Rail and Bus Group are working with Northern Rail to try and bring a better service to Gainsborough Central and the Brigg Line as a whole.”
