Tour of Kiveton Pit Head baths, which are due to be demolished

The former bath house served the village’s thousands of miners for nearly 60 years.

Seeing how dilapidated the building has become might leave some feeling a pang for the colliery which was once the heart of the community.

But heritage groups have taken a keen interest in what’s left inside, and are salvaging anything they feel is of historic interest.

Under the dust and graffiti are rooms lined with lockers and ceramic tiled shower cubicles, giving an eerie insight into its former life.
