Vehicle fires keep firefighters busy in Aston area

Firefighters had a busy night in Aston, Ulley and Aughton dealing with several incidents.

At 12.15am on Thursday 3rd October fire crews from Aston Park station were called to a lorry fire on the M1 northbound between junction 30 and 31.

On arrival they found it was a wheel which had overheated.

At 12.30am a call came in about another vehicle fire in Carr Lane, Ulley.

Firefighters from Rotherham station attended to find a horse box on fire, however there were no horses inside.

The fire was thought to have been started deliberately.

Then at 3.30am Aston Park crews were called to a car crash on Treeton Lane, Aughton.

A BMW had overturned and set on fire. Luckily nobody was thought to have been injured in the incident.
