Organisers say the meeting is important as there are two incinerators planned within Bassetlaw, under the supervision of the Waste Incineration Directive.

The Worksop Waste Wood Incinerator will be sited at Shireoaks Road Recycling Centre.

Planning permission was granted in October 2008 by Notts County Council and an environmental permit was granted in October 2010 by the Environment Agency.

The Shireoaks road plant and one proposed for Elkesley could impact around 100,000 people.

The meeting will be held at 6pm at The Crossing on Newcastle Street.
